Our Commitment to Diversity – Sector-wide Survey

As part of our commitment to diversity, we have launched our sectors first-ever diversity and inclusion survey. The aim of this survey is to provide you and many others with key information regarding the current diversity trends across the sector. It will also identify areas of improvement and we are aiming to run this annually to ensure that long-term change happens.

This is borne out of our Commitment to Diversity initiative, to help improve ED&I within the charity sector. I very much hope that a wide range of charity professionals will take part in this anonymous survey and therefore help to generate a clear picture of how diverse the sector is and how well organisations are doing in regards to supporting diversity.

ED&I is something I feel very passionate about and we have taken many steps over the last few months to support equality, diversity and inclusion within the sector, from holding a webinar series focused on this topic, joining Show the Salary, anonymising all candidate submissions and providing training to clients.

As we move into 2021, I want to ensure that this topic is at the forefront of people’s minds. Our aim is to run this survey annually, effectively tracking how the sector adapts over the years to come. For Ashby Jenkins Recruitment, ED&I is a long-term commitment, nothing changes overnight, and we want to help create a truly inclusive culture, accurate benchmarking and this is an easy way to do that.

There is now so much work being done to improve diversity that it is hoped in a years’ time when the survey is reissued, we can see trends moving in the right direction, after all, a diverse workforce is most able to represent the beneficiaries of the sector.

The survey launched on Monday 16th November, results will be released in January 2021.
